“I just wanted to express my gratitude for my Montessori experience at Arbor and the way in which it influenced me to be a lifelong learner. From a young age, I was challenged to be a critical thinker and problem solve. My vivid imagination was encouraged, and I was given the freedom to express myself. My teachers always gave me the space to ask powerful questions and entertained my, at times, main character energy. It was a space at the intersection of being a kid while also learning how to go into the world around you. You are setting kids like me up for the future and imprinting on them more than you realize. I just graduated from the University of Michigan with a degree in Molecular, Cellular, and Developmental Biology and am starting a role at Umoja Biosciences working to use immunotherapy, specifically in vivo CAR T-cell therapy, to treat cancer. As I start my professional career, I still hold close the lessons and values I learned first at Arbor.”
